Sea salt and table salt have the same basic nutritional value, despite the fact that sea salt is often promoted as being healthier. Sea salt and table salt contain comparable amounts of sodium by weight. But I always choose sea salt over table salt, and I'll explain why.  And it's not because I'm a beach girl and I like the sea.  LOL

The biggest differences between sea salt and table salt are in their taste, texture and processing. Sea salt is produced through evaporation of ocean water or water from saltwater lakes, usually with little processing.  On the other hand, table salt is typically mined from underground salt deposits. Table salt is more heavily processed to eliminate minerals and usually contains an additive to prevent clumping.

I don't know about you, but less processing sounds better to me.  That's why I choose sea salt over table salt.  BTW most table salt also has added iodine, an essential nutrient that helps maintain a healthy thyroid.  So, I buy my sea salt with added iodide.

Just remember to use it in moderation and you should be OK.  You will sea...  :)
