Breaking AC was first to report that staff and faculty at the Pennsylvania Ave. School and Atlantic City High School received word that one staff member at each of the schools had tested positive and any staff members who had close contact with these infected staffers are also at risk of being Covid-19 positive.

Atlantic City schools have been teaching entirely remotely so far this school year, so there is not a real concern about student infection.

Teachers have been reporting and teaching from their schools, however, since school began in early September. Many teachers in the district and the teacher's union have been in favor of giving teachers the option of teaching from home.

A letter from the Atlantic County Board of Education tells the schools' staffers that they may have been exposed to the infected individuals if they had close contact of less than six feet for more than 10 minutes, even while wearing a mask.

Any staffers at the schools who had close contact with the infected personnel are advised to be tested for Covid-19.
