According to research from a pet supply company, yes it does. Your political affiliation can say a lot about the kind of dog you have.

Smart-dog-collar makers Fi used GPS technology to tap into its database of 1.6 million dogs and compare it to voting data from the 2016 election, as well as current individual household donations to the Trump and Biden 2020 presidential campaigns.

Their Findings according to the New York Post:

The top 5 most popular Democrat doggie names are Diamond, Prince, Princess, King and Bhodi.

Top dog names for Republicans is Brutus, Ruger, Sassy, Buckeye and Baby.

Compared to Democrats, Republicans are twice less likely to spay or neuter their dogs.

Republicans also tend to think bigger is better: They’re 13% more likely than Democrats to have dogs weighing more than 25 pounds. And Republicans are 20% more likely than Democrats to have mixed-breed dogs.

The data also showed that Democrats are six times more likely to have poodle mixes — otherwise known as Doodles — than Republicans.

Republicans are 6% more likely to have a female dog.
