Weekend Happenings: Wrestling Championships, Live Music, Home & Garden Show

Is there anyone who isn't ready for spring at this point?  This has been one eternally long, bleak winter, hasn't it?  Bring on the nice weather!
With that in mind, the 14th Annual Home & Garden Show returns to the Atlantic City Convention Center this Friday through Sunday (3/7-/9).  See lots of creative displays and shop for everything needed in your home and garden, plus outdoor living, pets, even wine tasting!

The weekend features a number of free seminars, vendors, and celebrity appearances, including Brett and Wade from Animal Planet's popular reality show, "Tanked".

After the show, remember that Atlantic City Restaurant Week continues at 80 participating South Jersey restaurants.  Great deals on delicious meals, so check it out and leave a nice tip!

Here's a look at some of the other fun stuff this weekend in South Jersey.

Atlantic City ...

Boardwalk Hall: New Jersey State High School Wrestling Championships. The tournament is the highlight of the year for the sport of wrestling and is open to all New Jersey high schools. Competition begins Friday March 7 at 5 p.m. for preliminaries and pre-quarter finals. Quarter-finals and wrestle-backs I and II are Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m. Following the morning session, Boardwalk Hall will clear the facility and re-open doors at 4 p.m. for the 5 p.m. evening session of the semi-finals and wrestle-backs III and IV. On Sunday, March 9, competition begins at 10 a.m. for wrestleback V and consolations, followed by the finals and awards ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Doors open one hour prior to each session.

-Atlantic City: Join Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG and the Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee at a parade fundraiser from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, March 9th at the AC Moose Lodge. This is the last fundraiser for the 2014 parade and the last day for registration to participate in the parade. The parade will be on Saturday, March 15th at 1pm beginning from South Carolina Avenue down the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk!
