Every Thursday morning at 7:10am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City introduces the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

This week we met Salem the cat...

Here's some information on Salem from the Humane Society of Ocean City...

"Salem is a sweet 6 year old girl. She’s been here since she was brought in as a 3 month old kitten in 2015.

She would love a home to call her own. She loves to be petted, but, here's is the quirk:  Salem is very adamant that you don’t pick her up. She helps out every morning, supervising the cleaning and stopping everyone from working for pets.

She would be fine with another cat and would do okay with a dog that wasn’t interested in her. Kids that don’t try to pick her up would be fine with her also.

Please contact one of our adoption counselors for more information. All cats are up to date with vaccines and have been spayed or neutered. The HSOC also provides each pet adopted by us with a 10% lifetime discount to our veterinary center."
