It looks like we'll be stuck in this heat wave for most of the week. Temps reached 93 degrees yesterday at Atlantic City International Airport. The normal high for this time of the month is 86. A heat advisory is in effect for most of New Jersey for most of the week. We could get some relief by the weekend.

It may be a good idea to reduce physical activity to the early morning or late after hours. Make sure your pets have plenty of water and never leave them in an enclosed car.

Heat stroke could also cause serious problems especially for people who have to work on the outside.  There are a number of steps you can take guard against heat stroke. Drink plenty of fluids, even if you don't feel thirsty. You should also avoid caffeinated beverages and alcohol should they can contribute to dehydration.
