I've been meaning to fill my tank up for the past couple of days due to the impending rise of gas prices due to Hurricane Harvey. I guess I waited just a bit too long.

Boy was I in for a bit of a surprise when I went to fill up this morning and wound up paying $2.49 for a gallon of gas! Yikes! According to CNBC, prices are set to go up again just in time for the long labor day weekend.

Gas prices have climbed 17 cents a gallon since Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. The national price for a gallon of gas according to AAA is $2.52 a gallon and in New Jersey it jumps to $2.54 a gallon. According to the CNN Money, gas could rise up to $2.75 a gallon.

I guess I can't complain too much, especially after the devastation that Hurricane Harvey caused so many in Texas and parts of Louisiana. There are reports of stations running out of gas in Dallas and other areas of Texas.
