Phone scams continue to be a big problem and some of the scams are becoming even more dishonest and unscrupulous than ever. Phone scammers will try their hardest to steal your money and personal information.

Egg Harbor Township police have issued a warning concerning the latest cunning phone scam which involves the scammer posing as a member of the EHT Police Department.

The impersonator will refer to the community member by name. The scammer will mention that the call is being recorded. The victim is then told that he or she missed a court date. The cunning scammer then will try to get money by threatening the community member with a warrant for their arrest or even jail time.
