Attention all astronomy lovers and stargazers, a rare black moon will rise over the skies of South Jersey tonight.

The real question is whether or not we'll be able to see it. There are a couple of definitions when describing a black moon. According to Atlas Obscura, some astronomers describe the black moon as occurring when the month of February skips a full moon every 19 years. There's also the theory that the new moon skips a month entirely.

According to Science Alert, the black moon tonight is the second time this month the moon will vanish from the sky. Regardless, the skies over South Jersey will look pretty eerie tonight.
