5 Ways to Spend Your Tax Refund in South Jersey
I recently did a blog concerning the surge of IRS phone scams in South Jersey. My wife and I actually received one of these phony messages from a scammer. Luckily, we didn't fall for the scam. Now it's time to start figuring out how we want to spend our 2015 tax returns.
According to Smartasset.com, the average refund in 2014 for New Jersey was $2,960, which ranked as 4th highest average tax refund in the nation. Here are some tips on ways you can spend some or all of your 2015 tax refund in South Jersey.
- 1
Spend a Romantic Weekend in Cape May
Cape May has some of the finest hotels and most romantic places for dinner. Now is the perfect time to get away for a romantic weekend.
- 2
Enjoy Dinner and a Show in Atlantic City
Plenty of headline acts to choose from including Belinda Carlisle, Diana Ross, Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld. The Music Box at Borgata is still one of my all-time favorite places to see a show. Perhaps dinner at Carmine's at the Tropicana to complete the evening.
- 3
Have a Wawa Hoagie Feast
There are plenty of Wawa's in South Jersey. With the average tax refund you should be able to buy close to 600 classic Wawa hoagies. I'll take mine with turkey and swiss!
- 4
Go on a Shopping Spree
Get ready for spring and summer! Spend some time shopping for something special for yourself at Tanger Outlets in Atlantic City or the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.
- 5
Spend Some Time With the Family
Spend a day with the family at Storybook Land in EHT. Soon the weather will be warm enough for a day at Morey's Piers in Wildwood or Gillian's Wonderland Pier in Ocean City. Spend a day with Lite Rock at Kidabaloo 2016 on Saturday, March 19th! Kidabaloo is a fun-filled day for the whole family with games, crafts, and loads of entertainment!
