Skipping a toll on The AC Expressway could cost you, thanks to a state-wide pilot program pointed directly at toll cheats. The Garden State Parkway and the NJ Turnpike will pursue toll cheats who owe at least $1,000. According to the South Jersey Transportation Authority, if you owe at least $200 in unpaid tolls you could be hit with big fines. You could also loose your registration.

Toll Violation penalties will increase from $25 to $50. Expressway employees will also be sitting in E-Z Pass booths looking for toll cheats. Your license plate number will be passed on to near by troopers if you skip a toll. The Expressway already has collected close to $70,000 in unpaid tolls since 2012.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to skip out on a toll on the AC Expressway.
