February – the month of  love, romance and affection – the emotional side of our heart.

It is also American Heart Month, which focuses on the physical health of our heart.

As it turns out, the emotional and physical heart are more connected than we might realize. In addition to physical activity, eating healthy and avoiding negative habits such as smoking, we need to manage stress, anger and anxiety to reduce our risk of heart disease.

Here’s just a few ways: manage your time better, share your feelings, learn to forgive and compromise, look at the big picture, appreciate the good in your life, stay active, and connect with family and friends. Finally, take time each day to do something you enjoy and just be in the moment.
