Best Picnic Spots in South Jersey
We may finally be turning the page on the colder weather with temperatures expected to get close to 80 degrees by early next week. So, it may be a good idea to put away your gloves and winter gear and break out your picnic basket.
Here are a few ideal picnic spots in South Jersey, if you're looking to get out of the house, and enjoy a good meal outside!
- 1
Leaming's Run Garden - Cape May
Here's a perfect spot to have a meal, get in a walk, and take in the scenery of woodlands and wetlands. Leaming's Run Garden is located on Rt. 9 in Cape May Court House.
- 2
Historic Smithville - Smithville
Located off of Rt 9. and E. Moss Mill Road, you can take a stroll down the cobblestone roads to walk off your meal. You can also get a bit of shopping done after your picnic!
- 3
Sayen House & Gardens - Hamilton Township
Sayen House and Gardens is situated in historic Hamilton Square. It's the perfect spot for a picnic, especially if you're a nature lover or history buff!
- 4
Birch Grove Park - Northfield
This is my favorite go to spot, especially if things get a little hectic here at the Lite Rock studio. It's a great place to have a bite, enjoy a long walk, and look at the beautiful scenery. Birch Grove Park is located on Burton Avenue in Northfield.
- 5
Cape May Point State Park - Cape May
This is an ideal spot for a family picnic. What better way to walk off your food then climbing the 199 steps to the top of the Cape May Lighthouse.
