January 31, 2013 According to the National Weather Service winds gusts reached 50 miles per hour earlier this morning. Atlantic City International Airport recorded 54 mile per hour wind gusts. Winds were the strongest between 2 and 4 am.

Residents and business owners who suffered damage due to Hurricane Sandy can begin applying for Federal Emergency Management assistance beginning today. The counties affected are Cape May, Atlantic and Ocean.
Nearly three months after intense thunderstorms plowed across South Jersey, causing some people to be without electric for a week, financial assistance is now available.
September 18, 2012 The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for the entire region until 7 p.m.
The worst of the storms is expected to move through South Jersey between 5 and 9 p.m. tonight.

June 30, 2012 An overnight curfew is in effect for all towns in Atlantic County, except for Atlantic City. Emergency Management officials instituted the curfew in the wake of widespread power outages in South Jersey.
The curfew will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday, at which time officials will reevaluate their "game plan", so to speak.
