There Is Such A Thing As A Vegan Pork Roll – Would You Try It?
Have your dietary restrictions not allowed you to take part in the Pork Roll party that happens EVERY DAY?!
Well it has just come to my attention that a vegan pork roll is actually a thing!
Definitely not surprising with all of the different dietary restrictions various people have.now, you don't have to.
The one restaurant that I know for sure has it on their menu is called Alternative Plate located at 1602 Main Street in Lake Como. They are a bit far but I am sure that there are others and that many restaurants will not be far behind.
But what exactly is in this vegan pork roll?
Alternative Plate's owner and chef, Peter Teevanhe uses, "tofu flavored to taste like scrambled eggs, plant-based sausage and bacon, avocado, tomato, and a spicy house-made ketchup on a homemade everything bun."
"We're organic, vegan butchers," Teevanhe said. "We're plant-based food developers, and our specialty is the meats. We're making it so someone can eat it any day and want to eat it every day."
The picture at APP.com looks big and messy -- as a pork roll sandwich should be! So, now that you know -- would you give it a try?
