Atlantic City Police have issued a warning of a possible phone scam targeting Atlantic County.

A strong thunderstorm passed through  Atlantic County earlier this morning causes power outages for many customers of Atlantic City Electric.

The frigid winter of 2014 continues with temps struggling to get out of the teens during the day and dropping to single digits at night. The wind chills will make if feel more like below zero. The frigid weather will increase the demand for electricity.

Atlantic City Electric, which delivers power to nearly 550,000 homes and businesses in south Jersey, has been alerted of a "Green Dot" scam targeting their customers.
