Miss America 2016 Makes Her Debut on the Atlantic City Boardwalk

Congratulations to Miss Georgia, Betty Cantrell on being crowned Miss America 2016.Cantrell made her first public appearance on the Atlantic City Boardwalk earlier this morning. The newly crowned Miss America 2016 posed for photos and took part in the annual toe dip in the Atlantic Ocean.

Miss Georgia wins a $50,000 scholarship provided by the Miss America Organization. She'll also embark on a national speaking tour, bringing awareness to her platform which is "Healthy Children, Strong America.”

Cantrell was one of the final winners in the Miss America prelims. She won the talent portion of the competition by singing an operatic version of “Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio.”
