Join Lite Rock for the ‘Virtual Heart Walk’ May 16
May is usually the time of year Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG would encourage you to join us on the Ocean City Boardwalk for the American Heart Association's Heart Walk.
As I think back to the large group of walkers who gathered for the cause at last year's Heart Walk, it makes me proud to know we were a part of such a great event and, a little sad that we can't come together like that again this year.
Those previous South Jersey Heart Walks for the American Heart Association and fundraising efforts have helped to support the research to help in the fight against heart disease.
Even in a pandemic, that work continues. The research in to why risk factors for heart disease like high blood pressure and diabetes may make people more vulnerable to COVID-19 also continues.
For these reasons and, in honor of those you love who had or have heart issues in their lives, this work and our support most continue.
Of course, the health of the community is the American Heart Association's top priority.
That's why this year the American Heart Association has come up with a new twist for the Southern New Jersey Heart Walk!
We can all be together at a "Virtual" Heart Walk on Saturday, May 16.
You are encouraged to walk where you are, then share your selfies on any social media they choose using #LifeisWhyNJ.
