Over the past ten years working at Lite Rock, I have come to know and care for many of the station's listeners personally.

Denise Foster is one of those listeners. That made the news that Denise Foster had suffered an aneurism a real shock.

Denise, 52, from Egg Harbor Township, is an avid follower of Lite Rock and a familiar face at the station's live appearances.  She's a sweet, soft-spoken woman who always has a warm smile.

These days Denise doesn't have much to smile about.

On March 30th, 2014, Denise's mother died. Two weeks later, she suffered a brain aneurysm which almost cost her her own life.  Denise is now paralyzed on her left side.  During surgeries to relieve swelling to her brain, almost half of her skull was removed.  She is suffering from short-term memory loss.

Denise grew up in South Jersey and  worked for  Atlantic County Government.  She is now completely disabled and facing huge financial struggles. Her husband Gregg is also disabled.

She remains as upbeat and positive as she can be, but Denise really needs our help!

Saturday, January 31st @ 4pm, please join me and Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG at the Valentine's Beef n' Beer Benefit for Denise Foster at Jack's Riverside Inn in Mays Landing.

The goal is to raise money to help Denise and her family through this difficult time in their lives. The money raised will help Denise with medical bills and living expenses.

Tickets are $25 and will be available at the door.  Live entertainment from Motts Creek Pickers. A Chinese Auction will be held.

Anyone interested in donating money or auction items for Saturday's benefit should contact Michelle DiPaolo at Jack's Riverside Inn @ 609-350-3476.
