It’s Official; No Smoking on the Ocean City Boardwalk

Last night the Ocean City Council voted unanimously to ban smoking along the boardwalk. The ban also includes boardwalk entrance ramps and steps.

Currently smokers can light up at one of the seven designated smoke areas. You'll now have to light up on the street level.

If you get caught with a butt on the baordwalk, the fines would range from $100 to $250 for the first offense. Second offenders will have to cough up between $500 and one thousand dollars.

The no smoking ban will go into effect twenty days afer the passing of the ordinance which would be July 16th.
