A new partnership has begun between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the South Jersey Transportation Authority. The Port Authority will try to entice new carriers to Atlantic City Airport.The SJTA will pay the Port Authority $500,000 a year to take over the airport. The agreement between the two parties is for 15 years.

Over 1.4 million people have traveled through Atlantic City airport each year. However, there's been a 28 percent decline in passengers so far in the first quarter of 2013.
