Can’t face the day without your daily caffeine fix? It’s not you – it’s your job.

A recent survey showed the biggest consumers of coffee were those with stressful careers.

Journalists consumed the most cups per day, followed by police officers and teachers.

The results, which were released by Pressat, found 85 percent of professionals drank at least three cups of coffee a day.

Out of the more than 10,000 people surveyed, almost 70 percent admitted their jobs would be affected without their daily pick-me-up cup or cups.

People are affected by caffeine in different ways. Some people are more sensitive to its properties than others and have to adjust their intake as a result.

Recent research carried out by the University of South Carolina has found that the daily recommended dose should not exceed 200mg of caffeine per day, which is equivalent to two mugs or four cups of coffee.

Here is the list of the top ten professions for coffee drinking;

1. Journalists and media staff

3. Teachers

4. Plumbers and trade workers

5. Nurses and medical staff

6. Company executives

7. Telesales
