Just about everyone has had a nail biting moment in his or her life, right?Nail bitting is one habit of mine that I'm not proud of. If you bite your nails down to the skin, you can cause a serious infection to occur, which I found out first hand.

My week has been filled with multipile trips to the ER because an infection, which I caused, would not subside. I'll be honest, I don't do well with visits to the doctor and especially needles. I almost passed out when I found out a huge needle had to go right into my poor finger to numb it completely.

I've been walking around work all week with a bandaged finger, having to explain my embarrassing predicament over and over. Even trying to type this blog had been a real hassle because of my incident. But, my nail biting days are over! I don't want to deal with the pain or visits to the ER from chomping down on my nails anymore.

Here are some tips on how to stop biting your nails:

1. Try wearing bandages on your fingers or maybe gloves on your hand for a short period of time.

2. Find a fellow nail bitter and quit together

3. Try to keep your hands and mouth busy at all times
