Marlene’s Spring Must-Haves
We all have our favorites...favorite people, favorite places, & favorite things. And I am no exception. But how do you have your favorites without turning into a snob??
I'm starting to feel like the older you get, the more you think certain things are better than others. You start to get set in your ways about a lot of things. And that's what's happening to me.
Like many people who live here, I have my favorite beach. I like the fact that there's a bathroom and an outdoor shower nearby, and lifeguards around just in case. A friend of mine who lives in a beach town used to meet me at my beach, so I wouldn't have to come to hers! Then I realized how ridiculous that was, and I started offering to meet her at her beach instead. I must admit it was hard for me at first, but I tried it and it wasn't so bad. Sometimes you just have to compromise in the name of friendship.
With some things though, I'm not willing to compromise. I have my favorite gym, and there is no other gym for me. Of course I teach there too, but I would never want to teach or be a member anywhere else.
If these things make me a snob, so be it. I think my beach is better than yours, but I will never tell you that. I'll keep that to myself. :)
