Margate's Board of Commissioners held a private meeting recently to discuss the lease for Lucy the 134-year-old iconic elephant.According to the Shore News Today, the focus of the meeting, which included the Mayor and the Save Lucy Committee executive director, focused on possible litigation over the lease. The Save the Lucy Committee has failed to make yearly lease payments.

Lucy's lease expires in four years. The city and the Save The Lucy Committee want to have a closer partnership and are working on a lease extension.
