Welcome to National Pretzel Day 2017. It's a beautiful day to treat yourself to a free pretzel!

According to Wikipedia, there are numerous legends when it comes to the origins of the pretzel. One scenario has the the first pretzel dating back to 610 AD made by an Italian monk, who rewarded children with a pretzel for saying their prayers. The pretzel also dates back to the 12th century in Germany as the pretzel was used as an emblem for bakers.
