Woman’s Body Found Floating in Margate Bay

The body of an elderly Margate woman was found floating in the Margate bay Sunday afternoon.

According to press reports, police were called to the Peek-A-Boo Marina on the 700 block of Jerome Avenue at 2:28 p.m. Sunday afternoon  to investigate the report of an unidentified 79-year-old city woman found floating in the bay.

Members of the Margate Police were joined by the New Jersey State Police Marine Unit responding to the call and police were still on the scene Sunday night.

The investigation is being handled by Detectives Jeanette Arcuri and Joe Scullion.  Police say there doesn't appear to be anything suspicious involved, but the investigation is ongoing.
