Wildwood High Coach Dave Troiano Earns 600th Win

Wildwood High School Girls Basketball Coach Dave Troiano reached... his milestone 600th win with the same passion and enthusiasm he has shown since his first season coaching the Lady Warriors in 1977.

Troiano earned win number 600 with a 60-46 victory last night over Cape May Tech.

The 65-year-old coach, who has coached at Wildwood his entire career, has a record of 600-290 in his 35 seasons. He has also won four State titles during those years.

Always known for his intensity, Coach Troiano was his normal animated self in last night's game, not acknowledging the importance of the game until after the win to keep his team from "getting as nervous as I was", he told the Press of Atlantic City.

So what's next for the man who has become a Wildwood coaching legend? Dave Troiano wants to get back to the business of coaching the Wildwood Girls and aiming for win number 700.  Don't count him out.
