Talk about isolated showers.  Parts of Galloway Township and Southern Ocean County got at much as four inches of rain yesterday afternoon while other areas just a few miles away didn't get a drop!  Yesterday's storm even featured... the rather unusual weather phenomenon,  a water spout in Great Bay, northwest of Brigantine, that you see pictured here, courtesy of a Lite Rock Facebook Fan.

Alan Kasper tells me a water spout is basically a tornado over the water, but typically they dissipate rapidly when they make landfall, and rarely penetrate far inland.
