The band “who you think of fifth, or maybe eighth” when considering 1970’s harmonic duos, Hall & Oates, have revealed their summer tour plans.

Daryl Hall and John Oates tapped fellow (fictional) soft rockers Blue Jean Committee to help make the announcement.

“What do you think of when you think of the Seventies? When you think of beautiful harmonies, you think of a duo who sing together to make hit songs. You think of the Blue Jean Committee and that’s who we are,” Gene Allen (Fred Armisen) says to open the announcement video.

“Do you know who used to open for us, and we used to kick around? Daryl Hall! John Oates!” laments Clark Honus (Bill Hader), adding that their former tourmates left them in the dust once they hit it big. “That was a real Philly thing to do, I think,” he opines. “Real Philly thing to do…”

While you can catch the story of Blue Jean Committee on IFC’s Documentary Now!, you can see Philly rockers Hall & Oates when they play their summer show on Sunday, July 10th at the BB&T Pavilion. Get there early to see two very entertaining openers, Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.
