The USS Atlantus wreck off of Sunset Beach in Cape May was taking quite a beating over the weekend, thanks to huge chunks of flowing ice in Delaware Bay.

Extremely cold temperatures over the past couple of weeks in South Jersey have caused many bodies of water to freeze over -- including the Cape May Canal (where two people filmed themselves walking from one side to the other) and Delaware Bay. Now, while Delaware Bay has not completely frozen, huge sections of it has. The ice off of Sunset Beach in Cape May, prior to this weekend, was in such a way that people were able to walk from the shore out to the USS Atlantus wreck (something that is highly discouraged by local law enforcement).

On Sunday afternoon, the ice was flowing pretty rapidly out to sea, causing huge chunks to batter the 90-year-old shipwreck.
