Veterans Day is observed on the 11th of November each year. A legal U.S. holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars, and Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. In 1938, it became a federal holiday in the United State. The day was renamed to Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all American veterans who served in the military.

Each year the Veterans Day National Committee publishes a commemorative Veterans Day poster, selected from artwork submitted by artists nationwide. The winning design is distributed to VA facilities and military installations around the world and is used on the cover of the official program for the Veterans Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery.

The posters serve to honor the rich history of our country’s service men and women and salute their pride and patriotism. The theme for Veterans Day 2023 is “Service.” That certainly summarizes what our veterans Veterans give to us. We owe them a debt of gratitude for their military service, their sacrfice and dedication defending our freedom. So to all of our veterans and those currently serving, thank you from all of us here at Lite 96.9 and Townsquare Media.
