A merger of dollar stores will mean the closing of 15 New Jersey Dollar Express stores, including three locally. Dollar Express locations in Brigantine, Pleasantville and Vineland will be closing by June 30.

According to NJ.com, there is the chance that these locations will eventually re-open as Dollar General stores. Dollar Express is being purchased by Dollar General, which plans to renovate and re-open certain locations.

It's unclear how many, if any, of the local Dollar Express stores may later re-emerge as Dollar Generals. Meantime, about 130 Dollar Express workers in New Jersey will lose their jobs at the end of June
