Pontoon Boat Crashes into Longport Jetty, One Man Missing

One man is still missing after the pontoon boat he was driving hit the rock jetty at 11th street in Longport late Sunday night.

Police responded to the accident at about 11:30pm Sunday after the passenger on the boat was able to swim ashore and notified them.

A search helicopter accompanied the Longport and Ocean City Police departments, State Police and the Coast Guard in an overnight search for the missing boater, a 45 year-old man, but the search was unsuccessful.
