Men tell lies twice as much as women, if you can believe the reslts of a recent survey in England. Researchers found men tell six fibs a day on average to their partner, boss and work colleagues, but women... come out with just three.

The study of 2,000 Brits also revealed that the most common lie told by both sexes was: ' Nothing's wrong, I'm fine.'

The study found that women were more likely to lie in certain situations, such as when buying clothes or when trying to avoid a phone call.

Here are the top five lies by gender:

Men's Top Five Lies:

1- Nothing wrong, I'm fine.

2- I didn't have that much to drink

3- I had no phone signal

4- It wasn't that expensive

5- I'm on my way

Women's Top Five Lies:

1- Nothing's wrong, I'm fine

2- It isn't new, I have it for ages

3- It wasn't that expensive

4- I haven't had much to drink

5- I have a headache
