Charges Filed in EHT Hotel Death
Police have identified a man found dead on Sunday inside an Egg Harbor Township hotel room, and authorities have filed weapons charges against one man while continuing to look for a suspect.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said Kaneil Harris, 22, was found in a hallway inside the Howard Johnson's on the Black Horse Pike around 11 a.m. after being being fatally shot.
NBC 40 reports that 5 men were taken into custody after a confrontation in Pleasantville involving the SWAT team.
No one has been charged with the slaying. But a 23-year-old man was arrested Monday and charged with weapons offenses. Police tell The Press of Atlantic City that George Neewilly fired a handgun in the same room where the victim was found.
Neewilly is in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $150,000 bail.
