Mainland’s Ryan Brenner a Finalist for “Rudy” Award

Mainland Regional High School junior Ryan Brenner is a finalist for PARADE Magazine's High School Football "Rudy" Award.   Four Mainland Football players, including Ryan's brother, Casey Brenner, died in an August car accident.   "Ryan encouraged his teammates  to get back on the field and put their hearts in it for their fallen friends", a Parade spokeswoman said in a news release. The award is named for Notre Dame football player Rudy Ruettiger who was immortalized in the movie "Rudy".  Winners from the national contest share $25,000 in scholarship money.  You can vote for Ryan Brenner @ highschoolrudyawards.com
