Additional Information

Members of the NJCU Jazz faculty have partnered with the producers of the Jersey City Jazz Festival, Riverview Jazz, to bring a swinging night of music to downtown Jersey City. The event will take place at HeadRoom, an active music venue located in the Powerhouse Arts District. The evening will feature the student ensembles of trumpeter Nate Eklund, guitarist Paul Meyers, and drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts. A jam session led by the RJO All-Stars will cap off the evening of music.

“NJCU has a great music program so I was thrilled when my old friend Nate Eklund reached out about creating some performance opportunities for these talented students” said Bryan Beninghove, the executive director of Riverview Jazz. “We’ve been doing some work with this great space called HeadRoom, and the timing worked out to throw together a really fun night of music featuring multi-generations of musicians. I can’t wait!”

Admission is $10 and $5 for students. For more information go to www.RiverviewJazz.org
