EHT Police Make Arrest in Beating Death of Bella the Dog

Days after a pit bull was found beaten to death behind a mobile home park in Egg Harbor Township, Police announced... they have charged 49-year-old Steven Geisel with the crime.

The bloodied body of Bella, a young, grey, pit bull was found Friday in the woods off of Ocean Avenue, behind Norm's Dale Mobile Home Park.  The animal's remains showed signs of  neglect and a tortured death.

Bella was apparently the family pet of a relative of Geisel's. Police report that the dog had been repeatedly kicked or stomped.

Why?  Why would someone do something like this? It's the question many animal lovers like me are asking. If we knew that answer, perhaps we could stop this unbelievable cruelty from happening again.

If he's guilty, maybe Mr. Geisel can tell us before he goes to jail for a long time.
