I was scrolling through Twitter this morning and stopped on a picture that made me chuckle.

That picture of kids in pretend-cars made me think of how much I enjoy seeing a movie at a drive-in. I remember seeing "Goonies" at the Wildwood Twin on Route 47, which closed way back in 1986. Over the years, I've also seen movies at the Delsea Drive-in, I've been to the Circle Drive-in in Scranton, and Becky's Drive-in in beautiful downtown Walnutport, PA (go to the middle of nowhere and make a left and you'll be in for a treat). Next up on my list is a visit to The Mahoning Drive-in in the Poconos -- they still show old-school 35mm vintage movies and have awesome themed weekends.

While having a huge TV in your living room with a great sound system is nice, there's still something special about going to the movies as far as I'm concerned -- and hitting a drive-in makes it one step more awesome.

As for the kids in cardboard boxes watching a movie in school, that's pretty cool and hopefully that experience is something that translates into future generations visiting a drive-in.
