Celine Dion to Stream Vegas Comeback a Month After Husband’s Death
Dion announced on January 15, just a day after the death of René Angélil, that she was indefinitely suspending her Las Vegas concert series at Caesar's Palace to heal. Yesterday (February 22), more than a month later, she shared on her website that Tuesday February 23 officially signals her comeback. Now, she's offering fans the chance to watch her set's opening segment — which will include a "trip down memory lane" and a "loving tribute to René" — via live stream.
While Celine's earned a reputation in the industry for being a consummate pro, a source told People the set might be shockingly raw.
"I am sure it will be emotional,” the source said. “She will not heal quickly."
Fans can watch the live stream, which will begin at 10:30 PM EST, here.
Dion previously suspended her concert series in 2014 while Angélil underwent aggressive cancer treatment, but she returned in 2015 upon his insistence.
"He wants me back,” she said at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. “He wants me strong. He wants to see me again because I’m his favorite singer."
