The debate is on again.  What is the favorite South Jersey Easter Candy?  Is it Peeps; those indestructible pink or yellow marshmallow birds injected with sugar?  Or do Cadbury Creme Eggs, those traditional English favorites with a hard chocolate shell and gooey, slimy stuff inside rule in South Jersey?

This argument resurfaces every spring as faithfully as the shorebirds return the the Jersey coast, and the question has pitted town against town and brother against brother for generations (okay, so I'm prone to exaggeration).

I can still... remember one South Jersey spring at the church Easter egg hunt when a gang of Peeps fans hurled insults and the occasional jelly bean at Cadbury Eggs lovers, and I saw Pastor McGillicutty, a longtime "Peep-er", show his loyalty by breaking a Cadbury Creme Egg over old Mrs. Huntsmen's head. (okay, apparently I'm prone to hallucinations, too)

Anyway, the point is that people in South Jersey can't agree on which is better.

This year, I am resorting to a not-so-scientific poll to see which  is the superior Easter candy.
