We're all looking to save some green to start the New Year. I'm not an financial expert but, I found these tips  on the web. Here are some money saving tips to help you and your budget for 2012...  5. Buying the cheapest products to save Money.

If you buy a tool at a dollar store, the chances are you'll be buying them again real soon. Cheaply made products may save you as few bucks, but you'll only have to pay more later to replace them.

4. Driving Miles for Cheaper Gas.

With the average cost of a gallon of gas averaging  around $ 3.32 it might not make sense driving around looking for cheap gas.. Besides wasting your time you're also putting wear and tear on your tires.

3. Building an Emergency Fund, but Not Contributing to your Retirement Plan:

It's essential to have an emergency fund. The finance experts say you need six months to one year of expenses. But experts also agree that you need to look after your financial future. If you're putting money into an emergency fund, but not into a long term savings plan, you're not prepared for your future.

2. Doing Your Own Taxes:

Many people use Turbo Tax and Tax Cut. But, if you have anything slightly more complex it might be worth your time to hire a tax professional to file your return. They can find deductions and tax exemptions that you have no idea about...

1. Taking Store Credit Card Offers for Discounts, but Paying the Minimum.

Its not a bad deal if you pay off the credit card in full when you get your first statement. If you just pay the minimum every month and you start adding more to the store card, the deal can suddenly turn out to be not so good...

Hope this helps!
