Wild Weather Hit Parts of South Jersey Again

Facebook

Talk about isolated showers.  Parts of Galloway Township and Southern Ocean County got at much as four inches of rain yesterday afternoon while other areas just a few miles away didn’t get a drop!  Yesterday’s storm even featured… the rather unusual weather phenomenon,  a water spout in Great Bay, northwest of Brigantine, that you see pictured here, courtesy of a Lite Rock Facebook Fan.

Alan Kasper tells me a water spout is basically a tornado over the water, but typically they dissipate rapidly when they make landfall, and rarely penetrate far inland.
