The news just keeps getting worse for the giant toy retailer. First came bankruptcy and store closings in late 2017, now comes word that an additional 200 stores will shut their doors.

According to USA Today, besides the closing of stores, the company will also make staff cuts at their headquarters located in Wayne, N.J.

With the new round of closings, the number of stores would drop by 50% to around 400 stores, according to the Wall Street Journal. Sales for the holiday season didn't help matters as they weren't great, and way off from projections.

No word on whether or not we'll lose the South Jersey locations in Mays Landing and Atlantic City.

I can remember spending so much time during the holidays at Toys R Us shopping for my boys. The store was always packed and filled holiday shoppers!
