Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

UPDATE 1/26/17: Tillie has been adopted.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Tillie” the dog. Tillie is a 5-year-old beagle mix.

Here is some information on Tillie from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

“Tillie is wonderfully plump beagle mix, female, spayed. She is  5 years old with multi-tone brown fur.

Tillie is a very outgoing and people-friendly dog. She needs to be the center of attention and has to be the only dog. Cats are unknown, but probably okay.

Tillie loves belly-rubs, hiney-scratches, and ear massages! She is active, despite her being over-weight (nothing a proper diet cannot fix), and enjoys walking and goofing around in the yard.

Tillie is an owner surrender, her first owner surrendered her to a beagle rescue group. She was adopted to a young woman who didn’t have time to spend with Tillie, so she gave Tillie to her mom. Momma loved Tillie, but Tillie had issues towards the other dogs in the house, so sadly she could not stay.

Tillie is an absolute joy of snuggles and silliness!!! If you think you may be the right match for her, come and meet her at the HSOC today!!"
