Halloween is fast approaching and if you haven't figured out what costume to wear, here are some ideas of what others have chosen.

According to a recent study that looked at the most Googled costumes by state, New Jersey appears to be keeping things pretty basic.

In the traditional category, "Ghost" was the most Googled costume. Not really adventurous, if you ask me, but we're not alone.  8 other states have Googled skeletons as well.

New Jersey's interest in the pop-culture category was a bit surprising.  Wonder Woman was the most Googled costume in the pop-culture category.  Not sure where the interest in Wonder Woman is coming from (perhaps husbands and boyfriends were helping research?)  South Carolina was the only other state that looked up Wonder Woman.

  • Skeletons:  AL, AZ, CA, CT, FL, IN, MA, MT, NM, NY, OK, RI, TX, VT
  • Ghosts:  AK, CO, MD, MS, MO, NV, ND, VA

In the pop-culture category, the most Googled costumes included:

  • Barbie:  CA, CO, CT, DE, ID, KS, MI, MN, MS, MO, MT, NE, NH, SD, VA, WY
  • Wednesday Adams:  AL, FL, HI, IA, ME, MD, NM, OH, UT, VT

One of the biggest Halloween Costume festivals in New Jersey is Witchcraft, an annual event that was held in Hammonton this month.

We observed some pretty incredible costumes, and most were homemade.  It was impressive to see some of the ways make-up was used to create the zombie look.  There were several Harley Quinn's, Catwoman was represented, and one group did a great job as Willie Wonka and his Oompah Loompahs.

Perhaps most surprising were some of the costumes we didn't see.  There was no Taylor Swift, nor did we see any politicians.
