This week's political news opened up the age old question of working mom vs. stay-at-home-mom. A quick update on what started the debate:  During a CNN interview,  Democratic party insider Hilary Rosen criticized Mitt Romney's wife, Ann Romney, for  never having worked outside the home.

Here is Rosen's quote from the CNN interview, "What you have is Mitt Romney running around the country saying, 'Well, you know, my wife tells me that what women really care about are economic issues.  And when I listen to my wife, that's what I'm hearing.'  Guess what?  His wife has actually never worked a day in her life."

Ann Romney tweeted for the first time to respond to Rosen's comment: "I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys.  Believe me, it was hard work."

Rosen later apologized, but kept up the war of words with this tweeted response: "I am raising children too.  But u do know that most young American women have to earn a living AND raise their kids don't u?"

This exchange, while politically motivated, raises an interesting question about women and mothers in today's society.
I would like to hear from South Jersey women on this issue.  Do you have the luxury to be a stay-at-home-mom?  If so, do you work anyway?
Please vote on the questions in the poll below and then leave your thoughts on working women, stay-at-home-moms and whether  women can really feel satisfied and happy while doing both at the same time.
