New Jersey Governor Chris Christie declared a state of emergency today as Hurricane Sandy approaches New Jersey. Gov. Christie appeared in North Wildwood this afternoon to talk more about the storm.
President Barack Obama has declared Atlantic, Cumberland, and Salem counties as major disaster areas as a result of the severe thunderstorms of June 30.
It’s a third day of sweltering temperatures in much of the eastern United States, even as more than two million people endure another day without power in the aftermath of a round of severe summer storms.
An overnight curfew is in effect for all towns in Atlantic County, except for Atlantic City. Emergency Management officials instituted the curfew in the wake of widespread power outages in South Jersey.
The curfew will remain in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday, at which time officials will reevaluate their "game plan", so to speak.
