As you probably know, February is all about the heart -- from Valentine's Day and loving the ones you're with to keeping your heart healthy with diet and exercise.

With that in mind, we came up with a few activities kids can do right here in South Jersey to keep their heart pumping!

    Here's the perfect outdoor (or indoor) activity during the winter for keeping your kids heart healthy and for toning muscles.

    Maybe check Flyers Skate Zone in Atlantic City or Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees.

    Take a Hike

    South Jersey is home to many beautiful parks, like Cape May Point State Park!

    HINT: These are beautiful EVEN IN THE WINTER! Bundle up and get outside!

    Visit a Zoo

    Of course the zoo that first comes to mind for me is that Cape May Zoo. My wife and I would be exhausted after spending a day at the zoo.

    My boys would be fast asleep as soon as they got in the car after spending the day walking and running around on of the best zoos in the entire state!

    Join a Swim Club

    Swimming is a great exercise and an awesome way to keep your muscles toned and your heart pumping.

    Locally you can find swim clubs in Galloway and Brigantine.

    Healthy Cooking

    Of course a healthy diet while staying active and keeping fit for you and your kids is a must. Try to stay away from fast food and balance your child's diet with plenty of fruits and veggies!
